I trotted out of camp, emitting a small yawn as I weaved around trees. Their kind foliage shadow my pelt in a cooling sort of way. Giving a polite little sniff, I turned towards the only place you shouldn't go alone. Snake Stones. The name was quite self explanatory, but if you're one of those slow kids, it's a beautiful stony landscape that's great for hunting in. That is if you're not afraid of snakes, but if you are you're screwed. Summer is when the slithering little beasts appear to chomp down on you like a snack. Badgers sometime infiltrate too, but rarely. And I, a deputy, had the stupidity to go down there in this warm weather. Great deputy, right? Food is food, I could kill a snake if needed, right? We'll see.
I trotted into the area, large mossy boulders rising around me. "Maybe snake meat tastes good..."

"It doesn't," sighed Tawnystar, her eyes narrowed into slits. She had been following the deputy in complete silence, only making herself known just before he went off into the dangerous rocky slope alone. It wasn't a smart decision, and such a warrior that she would make deputy surely knew that.
She padded up until she stood beside the tom, completely dwarfed by his size. She was used to this among those who were grown, and she was used to them underestimating her because of it. Still, her steady gaze ahead and sharply flickering tail seemed to mention something about the fact that she was not so weak as her size would suggest to others. Her brown eyes shifted from the rocks back to the feline, and then softened slightly. He probably hadn't meant to seem dull, even in doing something that was very much so.
"Well, if you're still going into the rocks, I suppose I'll tag along. Perhaps I could teach you something about snake hunting."
She snorted and smiled slightly, shaking her head to show the joke. "Shall we?"

I calmly cast my glance over to Tawnystar, a soft smile on my face was directed towards the small leader. "Hmm, really? Too bad. Maybe I'll just eradicate a few for the safety of, ah, apprentices." I gave a sly grin and whipped my tail with a slightly excited gleam in my eyes. I was completely ignoring the fact that my leader was able to see this ridiculous decision of mine. Like this wouldn't affect my standing. Maybe I trusted the tawny cat a tad bit too much.
I chuckled as Tawnystar finished her sentence. "Yeah, we both know I'm a terrible warrior. It'd be my pleasure to learn from the leader," I meowed, laughing as I spoke. "Let's go!" I started off into the stony area, eyes searching, ears pricked.
