Patrolling - please post here

[Ebonystar]

I stepped out of my den, a small yawn climbing its way out of my throat slowly.  I scaled my way up to the top of the stone jutting from the earth, protruding like an eyesore.  I sat at its tip, looking down upon the clan like I was on a cliff and they were all millions of feet below me.  I gave a smile and called out.  "All those old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the stone outcrop.  Time for patrols of the day."  Sitting back, I waited for the cats to gather.  I cast a searching gaze through them, trying to spot my deputy.  "Dogbark shall take over this task," I meowed out from over my shoulder as I turned and headed down to sit with the rest of the crowd to be given a position.

Dawn Patrol:
(You leave when the dusk patrol returns)

Noon Patrol:
(You shall be the first to go)
Dogbark
Ashenpaw

Dusk Patrol:
(You will leave when the noon patrol returns.)

You may apply to these below in an in-character format. You may apply to at a maximum of two patrols.

As for how long these last, they may last for however long you'd like. You have permission to encounter creatures such as poisonous snakes, badgers, foxes, etc... But please ask before you have a battle with them if you decide to. The head of the patrol must decide this.

[Ashenpaw]

Ashenpaw lowered his head and slid out of the apprentices den when he heard his leader call for all cats to gather. He blinked and looked up tilting his head and then smiled when the word 'patrols' were mentioned. He blinked his yellow eyes and sat down looking up at Dogbark then tilted his head "I'm up to going to the dusk patrol and dawn patrol.." he said in a shy but also calm voice. He wasn't to social around those with bigger power then him, but he tried to be.

Appleshard yawned as he exited the warrior's den for the morning. There was already quite a gathering in the clearing, and guessing Dogbark was putting together the day's patrols, the tom meandered over slowly. Apart from Dogbark he seemed to be the only warrior present, and he spared a moment to wonder where Specklecloud had wandered off to. Well no matter.

Intrigued by the possibility of having something to do, the mottled tom sat and curled his tail over his paws neatly, ears pricked in anticipation. "I'm more than happy to be placed wherever needed," he volunteered softly with a nod of his tapered head.

[Dogbark]

Dogbark surveyed his gathered warriors critically, taking into account Ashenpaw's request and Appleshard's easy-going manner. With so few cats to put to tasks, it was difficult not to cause overlapping. Keeping their borders safe was important, but stretching his warriors to the point of exhaustion was foolishness. After a quick breath, the large tom began to speak in a brusque manner.

"I will put you on two patrols as you wish Ashenpaw, but not the Dusk and Dawn. The dawn patrol will leave as the dusk one returns, that is two consecutive rounds of our territory, and too much strain for a youngster like you. I'd much rather you be resting or training." He still send the tom out, it was encouraging to see his enthusiasm after all, and hopefully everyone would be satisfied with his decision.

"Ebonystar, Specklecloud and Ashenpaw will take the Dawn patrol, led by Ebonystar. Myself and Ashenpaw will take the Noon patrol. Ebonystar, Appleshard and @fish will be on the Dusk patrol, led by Appleshard. If anyone has any problems with these arrangements, speak quickly because I believe you'll care more about them than I will."

Fishpaw padded out of his den with a stifled yawn, having just woken up from a nap. A flicker of worry made him frown when he saw cats starting to gather. Was something happening?

Hoping that he hadn't missed anything yet, the apprentice trotted over. He was just in time to hear Dogbark announce his name. Dusk patrol, huh? And I get to go with my mentor. Fishpaw gave a nod to show that he had heard the deputy's orders. He wasn't familiar with the other cat, Appleshard, but that probably wouldn't hinder his performance. They could get to know each other as they walked. Besides, it was just a patrol - what could possibly go wrong?
